Help us Raise £1000 for The Earl Mountbatten Hospice

Since 2007 we at The Plaza Ices have supported many charities. We are particulary proud to support the Ellen MacArthur Trust and the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

Our main fundraiser for the the Earl Mountbatten Hospice is to offer ice cream to walkers on the famous Walk the Wight and to donate a large percentage of the takings to the hospice. In the past 3 years we have  raised over £1500. Last year we raised £545 and the previous year £745 – we have never raised £1000 in one go!

So that is our target for 2010 to raise £1000 for the hospice in 2010.

How do we plan to achieve this?  – We will again be supplying two ice cream vans for Walk the Wight. One will be situated at Freshwater Bay and one at the end of the Flat Walk at Shide.

How can you help?  By purchasing a £1.50  ice cream at one of our Classic Ice Cream vans at the above locations on Walk the Wight day -  Sunday 16th of May 2010- we will donate 75p for every ice cream purchased .

(If you can not make it to the vans for an ice cream or can’t take part in Walk the Wight but still want to help the hospice please click on the link below.)

BUT THATS NOT ALL

To increase our chances of reaching our £1000 target – Gary Hall MD of The Plaza Ices Ltd. is running in the 2010 GREAT SOUTH RUN on behalf of The Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

This will be a personal challenge for Gary as aged 44 he hasn’t done any serious running since his army days! He is currently training daily and hopes to complete the 10 miles in under two hours. This event takes place at Southsea on Sunday October 24th.

How can you help? Please call in to The Plaza Ice Cream Parlour, Cowes to sign the sponsorship form or make a donation in the hospice charity box situated in the ice cream parlour.

Alternatively,  please sponsor Gary for the event by clicking on the link below – it really is that easy and your money goes direct to the Earl Mountbatten Hospice.

We also feel proud to meet up with The Ellen MacArthur Trust every Tuesday evening throughout July and provide ice creams to the children who are recovering from cancer and taking part in this unique sailing experience. The Ellen MacArthur Trust aims to support, empower and enliven children suffering from cancer or leukaemia by introducing them to the joys of sailing on the sea.
